Our state of mind can be both positive and negative, which is also known as our mindset. Our mindset defines our attitude, and that is how we behave and feel according to situations. A person with a negative mindset will not trust people or situations easily and can fail fast without trying because it is their mindset that confuses them to get to a conclusion that they can’t! It is said that 90% of people around the world have a negative mindset, and that’s the only reason why they can’t succeed in life.
On the other hand, the remaining 10% of people who have a positive mindset are the most successful people in the world. It is very important for all of us to remain positive all the time and find a reason to be happy. Positive-minded people believe in their destiny and they always focus on achieving it. How can we help our minds to think positively all the time? Let’s understand
Steps to attain a positive mindset
Meditation
Many learned men have said that we should always think positively, but most of the time we get diverted and keep thinking negatively about people and situations. It is not surprising to know that the moment we wake up in the morning, the first thought that comes into our mind is about the person who has hurt us the most. Yes, it’s true! But the question is, how can we control our thoughts and channel them towards thinking positively? Meditation is the only way to overcome this problem. In particular, meditation with chanting and visualization helps us a lot to control our minds and think positively.
Through meditation, we start appreciating God and ourselves. We are all very special and unique, and we need to remember this. Always think well of yourself and of the things and people around you. This is how we can channelize our thoughts in a positive direction.
Write down good incidents that happen to you.
Our lives are too short to dwell on the negative; instead, try to focus on all of the positive things that have happened to you. It would be a good idea to write down all the positive incidents that took place in a day’s journal every night. This would help us to reflect on the positivity of this world rather than crying about negative feelings. Try to always be happy and understand that it is your responsibility to keep yourself happy and not others. It is good not to play shame and blame games and focus on creating the best version of ourselves.
Dump the square box.
In the last twenty to thirty years, we have seen lots of changes taking place in our society as well as in our minds. The Idiot Box, which was blamed for creating idiots of us, is successful in its venture. Yes, going back to the 1960’s or 70’s, we will find that people in those days were much more productive as well as positive thinkers. Society as a whole was very close to each other, caring about each other. But since the time when television has become the most important member of our society and family, we have stopped being positive as well as productive. People became more negative thinkers and started judging others by watching all those negative shows and crime series. Nowadays, in each home there is a problem between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, and it’s all the gift of our so-called television that we are all nuclear and unhappy. Put that idiot box in the garbage and give more time to your own development rather than watching all the crap.
Keeping positive people around you
It is very important to be in between positive thinkers as what we listen to and see affects our subconscious mind, and we don’t know how it can change our attitude. So, it is good to be conscious and meet only with people who think and talk positively. Avoid people who are negative. Sometimes it might be difficult to find positive thinkers around you, as most of us always talk negatively. In such a scenario, it is better to watch good and positive videos or read good self-help books rather than talk rubbish.
The Mind is very powerful, so be cautious about what you sow in it because, in the end, you are going to reap fruits from the same seed.
